Clinical Psychologist Cyp Eating Disorders Service
2 weeks ago
The CYP Eating Disorder Team is a community team supporting young people and their families/carers who present with a primary diagnosis of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa or ARFID. The multi-disciplinary team has grown substantially in recent years and we are now looking to appoint a third clinical psychologist in order to improve our clinical offering to those accessing our service. The post is being offered as Band 7 or Band 8a dependent on experience, with supervision being tailored to match the post holder’s skills and competencies.
Applicants will ideally be skilled in therapeutic approaches tailored for people with eating disorders (CBT, DBT, FT-AN, FT-BN) or will be skilled clinicians motivated to train and develop in these therapies. Our team has a strong focus on compassionate working with patients and their systemic network and reflective and supportive teamworking. Whilst staff in the team hold individual caseloads, the working environment is open and collaborative, with weekly team meetings, cross-professional supervision and reflective practice.
The post holder will offer specialist assessment and psychological therapy, drawing on therapeutic skills in working with people experiencing additional challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression and difficulties related to autism spectrum disorder. They will provide liaison, consultation and support to other agencies. The post holder will be aware of the physical health aspects of eating disorders and familiar with relevant guidance in order to work alongside medical colleagues and staff in inpatient settings as appropriate.
The post holder will have opportunities to be involved in broader aspects of work, including service development activities at a regional level, supervising placement students, and service evaluation and research activities. The team is very active in training and continuing professional development and we welcome applicants with a positive orientation towards professional growth and challenge.
