There are 18 schools within The Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust, 3 secondary and 14 primary schools and a new SEMH school which opened in September.

Your main place of work will be Tavistock College, but you may be required to work across all the schools within The Dartmoor Multi-Academy Trust at any time as directed by the Executive Team.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
The purpose of the role is to lead, manage and develop the whole Modern Foreign Languages faculty with a direct lead for a specific key stage. The role will ensure the quality of teaching and learning is good or outstanding, the curriculum is effectively planned, resourced and reviewed reflected through student performance. The role must ensure effective tracking and intervention is offered where appropriate. The post-holder has strategic responsibility to ensure achievement and progression is reached for all students in Modern Foreign Languages. Working with other post-holders this job is pivotal in ensuring that a collegiate approach is evident across all three key stages offering an exciting and successful curriculum that is value for money. The job holder will work closely with the leads of other faculties within the college to ensure all students gain effective qualifications and achieve progress.
**Key expectations of the role**:
- Secure high standards for teaching and learning across the faculty - ‘Good and Outstanding’
- To lead teaching and learning across the whole Modern Foreign Languages curriculum
- Strategic Lead on the tracking of progress for students at all key stages
- Strategic vision and leadership to the Modern Foreign Languages faculty
- Operational responsibility for the Modern Foreign Languages faculty
- Lead and direction for the key stage leaders and wider staff team within the faculty
- A direct lead on the specific key stage curriculum
- Keeping abreast of the national and global developments in Modern Foreign Languages
- Overarching responsibility for the outcomes of students within Modern Foreign Languages at each key stage
- Develop an effective coherent curriculum offer for each key stage that has effective transition throughout
- Strategically lead each course with appropriate choice of exam board and syllabus and ensure all schemes of learning are in place to support this
- Ensure that retention of students and progression within Modern Foreign Languages is good
- Map the provision and the IAG to support students throughout
- Take the lead in the quality assurance working with the key stage leads within Modern Foreign Languages
- Ensure that the role links effectively to the teachers appraisal cycle
- Ensure that all health and safety procedures are adhered to within the faculty
- Develop the ethos within the faculty where the student learning is supported by its environment
