Sellick Partnership have been engaged by one of the UK's leading transport companies as they look to appoint a Group Accountant. Based in Newcastle, and reporting to the Group Financial Accountant, the Group Accountant is responsible for the consolidationand presentation of Group's financial results.

The Group Accountant will work with the Group Financial Accountant and the wider Group Finance team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and help drive financial reporting and control throughout the Group.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Preparation of financial information for the half year results announcement and the trading update statements
- Key involvement in the production of the full year Group Annual Report and Accounts; including consolidation of key financial statements and related notes. This will also involve liaison with external auditors, professional advisors and internal departments(including Investor Relations and Company Secretarial);
- Preparation of accounting papers for the Group and subsidiaries relating to complex accounting issues.
- Writing and updating the Group's accounting policies;
- Provision of support to the operating companies finance teams, as required;
- Preparation of Group's monthly capital expenditure report, by reviewing and collating operating companies' Group submissions.
- Preparation of various accounting tasks, such as office of national statistic surveys and Corporate Sustainability Reporting.
- Involvement in ad-hoc projects throughout the year, such as the implementation of a new accounting system, integration of acquisitions, set up of new operating companies, adoption of new accounting standards, etc;

- Newly Qualified Accountant / 2PQE
- Practice trained / Currently in Practice
- Strong working knowledge of accounting standards
