**About the Role**
**Base Location**:Poole
**Salary**:£30,272 - £35,194 depending on skills and experience + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

Mobile Generation is used to keep the customers lights on when supplies are not available either during planned work or in an emergency, and as a Mobile Diesel Generation (MDG) Fitter, you'll be responsible for:
- Ensuring our own fleet of mobile generation is available and ready to restore customer supplies during planned and unplanned interruptions.
- In this role, you'll ensure SEPD's mobile generation fleet is kept at a high state of readiness, whilst maintaining a high level of company and regulatory health, safety and environmental standards.
- In addition, you'll service the mobile generation fleet, including planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, repairing or replacing defective equipment, general upkeep of plant, adequate reporting of fleet conditions and status, as well as occasional out of hours' support.
- You'll report to the MDG Manager at Poole depot however, because the role requires visits to sites throughout the regions throughout the SEPD licence area, there is flexibility for you to be located within any of our regions.
**What do I need?**
To ensure you get the most from your role, we ask that you hold:
- A time served apprenticeship within vehicle/plant/HGV or mobile generator fitter.
- A relevant City and Guilds certificate would be advantageous, however the ability to demonstrate relevant experience will be considered and training will be provided on SSE fleet specific equipment.
- As this role includes travelling across the SEPD licence area, a UK driving licence is essential; you'll be provided with company transport to carry out your duties.
- An HGV/LGV driving licence would also be a bonus, including any previous or current network authorisations.
