Junior Product Tester

At Saga Media we’re on a mission to really get to know and understand the products we’re testing so that we can offer our readers what we believe to be the best buying choices out there. We’ve built a test centre so that we can carry out leading in depth technical testing with a practical bias to compliment the user experience of our real-life panel of experts.

If you can think outside of the box and are super organised, we’re looking for someone who can work with our Product tester and help source, call in, test and create engaging content for Saga’s new Experience platform.

In terms of your day-to-day role, we want someone passionate about getting to the heart of products and making sure they truly live up to the hype or marketing that brands are putting out. This means you’ll be a key part of editorial teams, working closely to identify, manage and call-in products that they deem worthy.

However, we don’t want someone that will only follow a list of products - we need a junior tester that’s on top of trends, can suggest key products and is able to build on existing product testing experience to develop key relationships with PRs and manufacturers, to aid the process of quickly and efficiently calling in kit, getting it tested and returned within a useful time frame.

They will also be keen to try new things, always looking for fun and innovative ways that our readers might be using products... and finding out how they stack up. You’ll be assisting the lead Product Tester so that together you can become the key differentiator in how Saga Media helps it readers make the perfect buying choice.

Main Responsibilities
- Support the Product tester in delivering accurate testing of a wide range of products
- Help with the logistics of lots of incoming and outgoing products
- Assist in keeping the Saga Media testing centre in good and safe working order
- Assist in the resale of purchased products after testing / liaising with PRs for confirmation of charity sale use for unwanted review kit
- Experience handling large quantities of incoming and outgoing products
- Enjoy relationships with internal and external parties
- High level of organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to deal with high volumes of work accurately and to deadline.
- Driving license desirable but not essential
- Patience to learn the ways of multiple products to expert levels
- Ability to find innovative ways to solve any issues that might arise
- Superb organisation skills
- Keen to assist and learn in the creation of photographic and video content.
