**Job description**:
As a Support Services Officer you are responsible for providing advice and guidance, report analysis, developing and updating guidance, ensuring monitoring agreements are adhered to and engaging with customers, rekeying test information and subsequent follow-up work and providing post room operational duties. Whilst doing this you should endeavour to promote and support best operational practice throughout DVSA.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide advice to internal and external customers.
- Draft, update and publish appropriate, accurate and timely procedures.
- Create and maintain knowledge management system information.
- Engage with customers by outbound telephone calling/in writing to provide advice and support.
- Act to prevent inaccurate driving test result data being presented for driving licence issue and system updates.
- Use iPad technology to process delegated examiner driving test and CPC4 assessor results for driving licence issue, and system updates.
- Upload ADI and standard check results on TARS system.
- Receive Royal Mail deliveries, open, sort and distribute internal mail to DVSA departments.
- Print and dispatch system generated letters.

To thrive in this role, you will enjoy a varied role where you will be able to use your strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor these and can do so in a clear, professional, and confident manner.
You enjoy building solid working relationships at all levels and this gives you the ability to achieve a common goal.
You will bring strong attention to detail and can analyse data allowing you to ensure quality control procedures and frameworks are adhered to. You have basic computer literacy skills and would be happy to expand on these skills.
**Additional Information**
This role can be based in Newcastle, your presence at this site will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you. We operate a hybrid working model giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Our **expectation** is that you will spend a minimum **60% of your time at your base location**. Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this.
