Support the UK finance team with the daily operations and maintenance of banking processes relating to the collection of customer payments for self-storage. This will typically include the reconciliation of all allocated bank accounts, BACS submissions and administration and a strong focus on internal customer support. The holder of this role will be able to manage the compromise of his/her own work in maintaining standards and compliance while providing a high quality, professional customer service to store teams, senior management and external parties.

**What you would be doing**:
**Store Bank Reconciliations**: Daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation of all allocated bank accounts.
- Record and communicate issues to all parties, external or internal
- Import to and extract from financial systems and external bank portals

**Banking Automated Clearance Service (BACS)**:Support the creation and submission of the Safestore BACS processes for all Safestore group companies
- Creation and submission of BACS imports, maintaining PayAway standards
- Communicate BACS rejections and unpaid Direct Debits to stores and support resolution
- Reconcile BACS receipts to customer accounts

**Customer Service**: As front-line banking support for all Safestore group stores, a dedicated customer-focus is required at all times and in accordance to the finance service charter.
- Daily liaison with store teams on all banking related matters
- Liaison with Head Office departments, specifically our National Accounts team
- Maintain strong relationships with bank escalation teams to resolve issues

**Risk and Compliance**: Adherence to policies, procedures and routines at all times. This will include support to all customers (internal/external) in their adherence to Safestore and banking policies.
- Liaison with risk and internal audit team
- Maintenance of store compliance reporting and escalation procedures
- Support the monitoring of Safestore compliance to BACS

**Skills and Experience**:

- Good Excel and IT skills capable of data extraction, data manipulation and reporting
- Strong understanding of cash and banking processes with a customer service background, preferably in a retail or banking environment
- Knowledge and experience of the BACS process would be a significant advantage
- Dutch Speaking
- Demonstrates business acumen with experience of supporting both finance and non-finance personnel
- A motivated self-starter who is confident in using their initiative
- Able to communicate confidently and build business relationships at any level of the organisation
- Dedicated team player, capable and willing to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled team
- Strong organisation skills supporting both individual and team-level tasks
