**Mechanics Teacher
- Full Time - Sutton in Ashfield**

An alternative provision in Sutton in Ashfield are seeking a full-time Mechanics Teacher starting ASAP

The school has recently opened Mechanics workshop which gives its students real world experience and offers a new approach to teaching the students as well as running the workshop you would also be engaging with the students with outdoor education.

Duties will include:

- Working closely with families and the wider community to ensure the provision of effective, holistic support
- Working with young people whose behaviour and disaffection has significant impact upon their attainment
- Improving pupil progress and achievement by helping to minimise barriers to learning and maximise pupil participation
- Devising, implementing, and evaluating specialist programmes of work to encourage and promote a pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Planning and facilitating structured activities, to support pupils to make appropriate use of unstructured times
- Working effectively and collaboratively with teachers, support staff and external agencies as required to ensure effective support provision for all pupils
- Resilience and patience is important

We are ideally seeking a Mechanics Teacher with previous experience providing support for young people with additional needs. A qualified Mechanic is preferred however someone with a passion for cars and a understanding of how they work will also be accepted**,**You will have excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with key professionals at all levels. Experience with SEND is ideal but an understanding and calming presence that understands the Children and respects them.
