**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Clinical Management**:

- Provide expert assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with breast disease, including both malignant and benign conditions.
- Perform breast surgeries including mastectomies, breast-conserving surgery, lymph node dissections, and reconstructive procedures.
- Provide outpatient consultations, follow-up care, and management plans.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, offering input on complex cases and treatment strategies.
- **Surgical Duties**:

- Perform elective and emergency breast surgery, including procedures for breast cancer, benign conditions, and breast reconstruction.
- Supervise junior surgical staff, medical students, and other healthcare professionals in clinical settings.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new surgical techniques and approaches.
- **Patient Care**:

- Maintain high standards of patient care, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate delivery.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear explanations of diagnosis, treatment options, and surgical outcomes.
- Support patients through their clinical journey, including pre-operative assessment and post-operative care.
- **Education and Training**:

- Provide training and mentorship to junior surgical staff, residents, and medical students.
- Participate in departmental educational activities, including case reviews, clinical teaching, and skills development.
- **Research and Development**:

- Contribute to ongoing research in breast surgery and breast cancer care, collaborating with the department’s research team as appropriate.
- Participate in audits and quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical practices and outcomes.
- **Administrative Duties**:

- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care, including operative notes, patient records, and discharge summaries.
- Contribute to departmental meetings, including audit, governance, and clinical review meetings.
- **On-Call Responsibilities (if applicable)**:

- Participate in the on-call rota for emergency breast surgery cases, including urgent assessments and interventions.

**Requirements**:

- **Qualifications**:

- MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
- Completion of specialty training in Breast Surgery (FRCS or equivalent).
- Relevant certification and registration with [relevant medical body/council].
- **Experience**:

- Extensive experience in breast surgery, including both malignant and benign conditions.
- Proven ability to manage complex surgical cases, including breast cancer and breast reconstruction.
- Previous experience in leading and training junior staff is desirable.
