About The Role

**Location**: New Alresford, Hampshire

**Days & Hours**:128 hours per 4 week cycle.** Week 1**:Friday & Saturday 6pm-8am.** Week 2**: Monday 6pm-8am and Sunday 8am-6pm. **Week 3**: Friday 6pm-8am, Saturday 8am-6pm & 6pm-8am. **Week 4**: Sunday 8am-6pm & 6pm-8am. These shifts can be covered by more than 1 person and** f**lexibility may be required on the start and finish times to meet Tristan's individual needs on different days due to activities. Bank hours also available.

**Pay**:Pay Rate 1**: £12.60 per hour Monday to Friday Days and Waking Nights. **Pay Rate 2**: £14.70 per hour Weekend Days. **Pay Rate 3**: £16.80 Bank Holidays. **Pay Rate 4**: NLW (currently £10.42 per hour for aged 23+) - Weekday Sleeping Nights 11pm-7am. **Pay rate 5**: NLW + £1 Weekend sleeping nights 11pm-7am. **Pay rate 5**: NLW + £1 (equating to £11.42 per hour for aged 23+). On standby shift £31.20 per shift

**Driver required**: Essential (will need own car to get to work as the client lives in a rural setting)
**Driving Clients Car**: Yes, our client's Adapted Vehicle
**Using Own Vehicle for work purposes**: To get to and from work as client is not near any public transport links, and to attend training
**Essential Experience**: Previous experience of working with children/young adults with neuro disability.
**Desirable**: Experience of and qualifications in caring for children/young people with severe disabilities.
**Pets**: 1 Family dog, very friendly but does bark.
**Accommodation (while on duty)**: Fully adapted family home, with separate Carer's entrance and Carer's room and carer's kitchen facilities.

Tristan is a young man born in 2000, who due to an injury at birth has complex physical, psychological and communication needs. He requires assistance with his personal care tasks,** **activities of daily living and leisure pursuits to enable him to maintain and increase his independence and bring more structure and routine to his day. Tristan thoroughly enjoys being outdoors rather than indoors and therefore requires help to plan his weekly outdoor activities such as theatre trips, shopping and day services. Support workers will need to be able to use his adapted vehicle, as getting out and about is very important to him. He is gastrostomy fed.

- Confident and comfortable working in Tristan’s own home and sensitive to his needs and wishes and those of his family. Able to demonstrate a good understanding of the importance of maintaining an excellent level of confidentiality and to respect Tristan and his family's need for privacy.
- Must be able to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided). A manual Handling Management Plan is available and is designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.
