Are you looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness?
Do you have a passion for supporting people through their journey to independence and sustainable living?
If you have experience in supported housing, license management, and private rental support, we want to hear from you

At One YMCA, we are entering a period of exciting growth, and we’re looking for a Supported Housing Officer to join our team and contribute to our mission of ending homelessness and rough sleeping. You will be part of a dynamic team providing essential support to individuals in move-on accommodation, as well as managing license agreements and offering private rental support.
As part of your role, you will provide support to individuals facing a variety of challenges, including rough sleeping, trauma, mental health difficulties, and substance misuse. You will work closely with residents to help them progress towards independence and sustainable housing solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide support to individuals in move-on accommodation, helping them work towards independent living
- Manage license agreements, ensuring compliance and timely renewals
- Offer practical and emotional support to residents, including those with poor mental health and substance misuse challenges
- Assist residents in securing private rental accommodation, guiding them through the process and offering support as needed
- Collaborate with local agencies to ensure residents receive the support they need
- Work with residents to set and achieve personal goals related to independent living and housing

Shift Pattern:

- 37.5 hours per week (excluding breaks), worked across five days with regular weekend shifts.
- Week 1: Early shift (8 am - 4 pm)
- Week 2: Late shift (1 pm - 9 pm)
- Time worked during weekends will be given back in lieu the following week.

Please note that while the shift pattern is currently set as above, this may change to meet the evolving needs of the service.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

- Experience working within supported housing or a related field, including license management and private rental support
- Knowledge of rough sleeping, trauma, mental health, and substance misuse issues, with the ability to offer practical and emotional support
- A genuine desire to help people achieve independence and stability in their lives
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- A good understanding of housing-related legislation and support services available to clients
- Experience working with individuals with complex needs is highly desirable

If you are committed to providing high-quality support to vulnerable individuals and making a positive difference in their lives, we encourage you to apply
This is an exciting opportunity to join One YMCA at a time of significant growth as we work to expand our housing services and increase our impact across all accommodation sites.
Benefits: Along with fulfilling work and strong support from your team, we offer a health cash plan, discounted local gym membership, 24/7 GP advice line (including video consultations), an employee assistance programme, pension, and life cover.

Please note: An Enhanced Disclosure check is required for this role.

This is a Full Time role.
Hours per week: 37.5
Working Pattern: Varied, inc Bank Holidays

By the end of these three days, there was a brilliantly multi-faceted set of themes and ideas, which formed the starting point for the rest of the Mission 25 process to build on. The aim of Mission 25 is to give every staff member and volunteer the opportunity to play their part in shaping the strategy to do “more and better, together” so that we double our impact by 2025. We deliver a vast array of services across Herts, Beds and Bucks that reach over 135,000 individuals annually.

These include:

- Provision of over 700 units of accommodation for homeless people
- Move on accommodation for individuals moving onto independent living
- Housing and practical/emotional support for young asylum seekers
