Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Computer Vision

The School of Science and Engineering has an international reputation for excellent teaching and topical research, particularly in addressing global challenges in energy, the environment, health care, technology, forensic science and infrastructure.
We are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant within our Computer Vision and Image Processing group. This is a fixed-term appointment for 12 months.
Your priorities will include:
- Integrate her/himself in the existing research group, working openly and collegiately with the rest of the team, within a strongly interdisciplinary project.
- Develop brain image pre-processing pipelines which include brain registration and atlas segmentation amongst others. Develop deep learning methods that explore the ability to predict dementia from image-based features.
- Lead day-to-day collaborative work between the Dundee and Edinburgh research groups, including convening regular technical meetings to brainstorm techniques, report developments, plan publications and monitor risk.
Who we’re looking for:
- PhD in computer science; or other numerate discipline (mathematics, physics, engineering) as long as demonstrable experience in deep learning (DL).
- Familiarity and experience in developing, implementing, and testing DL algorithms and models.
- Excellent deep learning programming skills in/with the usual environments and packages.
- Full familiarity with the common deep learning programming environments and packages.
