**Job description**:

- The Matrix Portfolio has been set up to deliver the Government's Shared Services Strategy. The programme is led by BEIS, and the Matrix Portfolio includes BEIS and 7 other Government departments. The Portfolio will design, develop, and procure the new technologies and capabilities that are required to help modernise our 'back office' systems. It will deliver a high quality, and good value, system and support service to help streamline the transactions and activities that underpin the way departments are run.
- The Portfolio will deliver the Government's three overarching objectives for shared services:
- Better experience for all users - intuitive systems that are easy to use and mobile-enabled
- Efficiency and value for money - better systems and services which support productivity and seek to reduce costs
- Standardised processes and data - support interoperability, making it easier to understand and compare corporate data

As the Portfolio continues to grow and execute a range of deliverables, we need you to support the execution of the commercial strategy working in an agile environment across an interesting, complex and high profile programme.**Responsibilities**:

- You will be an important member of the team driving great value for money through supporting the delivery of essential goods and services across the Matrix Programme. Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for:
- Key elements of the end-to-end commercial lifecycle, which could include pre-market engagement, sourcing, contract award and contract management.
- Proactively lead, support and challenge stakeholders throughout the commercial life cycle.
- Maintaining a category pipeline to allow commercial support to start in good time to ensure a full range of commercial options can be considered.
- Understand the supply market, category, and business context to inform and deliver the commercial strategy.
- Championing commercial capability throughout the Department and across wider stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of programme
- Using an e-procurement system to effectively manage and track Procurement and end to end category management activity.
- Working with stakeholders and suppliers, managing the relationships, providing advice and ensuring supporting the delivery of complex procurements
- Supporting with preparation of tender documentation, supplier engagement, evaluation activity and contract awards.
- Delivering multiple commercial activities simultaneously and supporting all aspects of the lifecycle including pre-market engagement, contract award and management.
- Following processes to maintain accurate data records and fulfil fairness and transparency requirements.
