Some travel will be required to various UK Hubs due to team and supplier locations; there may also be occasional overnight stays.

As a key part of DWP, the Commercial Directorate (CD) shapes how services are delivered across 100s of 3rd party contractual agreements; with an annual procurement spend in the region of £3bn with some of the largest industry suppliers. CD has undergone a massive transformation exercise to develop into a world-class Commercial function and is focused on continuously developing our achievement against Government Commercial Operating Standards.

Digital Category procure the IT infrastructure, software, hardware, services and anything further technology-related to support all of the DWP internal and external programmes and services. From buying laptops for DWP staff to supporting UK-wide work capability and health assessments, from data hosting to networks, we help source, procure and manage the technology that underpins the vital services. We work closely with Digital colleagues, providing the commercial support; cover and guidance to aid Digital colleagues achieve their outcomes.

**Job description**:
This exciting opportunity has arisen within one of DWP’s Commercial Digital Categories.

Technology Services, Security, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Working Age Services which covers the following business areas:

- Technology Services
- Hybrid Cloud & Security Services;
- Enterprise Software & Associated Services; and
- Digital Workplace Services.
- UC, AI & Working Age Services.

This role sits within the Digital Workplace sub-category, which is responsible for the commercialisation of all requirements for end-user DWP IT outside the data centre; he laptops, phones and printers that DWP staff use in their day-to-day work, the intranet, Teams and other communication tools that connect them, the networks that the IT runs over and the software that makes it all work. The Department’s Digital Workplace has been recognized by Gartner as one of the most mature among the clients it has surveyed; you will be working closely with colleagues in Digital and with suppliers to find ways to further increase that maturity, while challenging both internal stakeholders and suppliers to do so in a way that increases value.

We require driven, dynamic individuals who can deliver commercial solutions at pace. You will provide commercial advice, guidance and leadership within the commercial team and wider DWP stakeholders across a large portfolio of work in Digital Group, working to challenging time scales; delivering core IT services as well as supporting transformation activities.

You will be proactive and demonstrate strong commercial knowledge and understanding of the procurement process and the Cabinet Office Sourcing Playbook and work in accordance with the DWP commercial operating model. You will be motivated to achieve best value for money by implementing best practice commercial activity and working closely with colleagues across the Digital delivery team and the wider Commercial Directorate.

You will be passionate about creating change by contributing to an evolving Category Team and you will have the resilience and skills to both challenge, inspire and lead others within the team and wider DWP stakeholder community. You will form robust and trusted relationships working collaboratively to solve complex problems and achieve the best outcomes.

**Locations**

Your time spent on official duties at workplace locations other than your contractual office such as supplier, customer or partner locations required to perform your role is included in the 40% attendance. This will increase to **60% office attendance from 1st September 2025.**
