**Credit Control Secretary**

Rossdales Veterinary Surgeons is seeking to appoint a Credit Control Secretary to join our Newmarket accounts team, based at our Equine Practice in the centre of Newmarket. This position is a part-time role working 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing an accurate and efficient credit control secretarial function to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

The role will suit a reliable and highly motivated individual with outstanding attention to detail, who is able to work as part of a team but also able to work on their own initiative.

Applicants should have:

- Previous accounts experience is essential and experience of working within the equine industry and credit control is desirable
- A high level of accuracy
- The ability to remain calm under pressure
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- The ability to deal with situations of a sensitive and confidential nature
- Competence with IT and/or practice management systems

The main aspects of this role include (but are not limited to):

- Producing individual debtor reports for the clinical directors to keep them up-to-date with the overdue accounts for which they are responsible.
- Secretarial support to the Credit Control Manager, including preparation of standard letter templates, spreadsheets, agendas, tracing agent forms and reports using the shared credit control database. Designing spreadsheets and personalising individual letters as required.
- Monitoring accounts according to their payment terms and chasing any promised payment or overdue balance.
- Working on the practice management database and accurately updating client accounts, reviewing notes and actioning as required.
- Carrying out checks on new clients prior to registration. Arranging payment terms to be sent to new clients and monitoring as necessary. Alerting Credit Control Manager to adverse findings.
- Completing a pre-debt collectors checklist for the credit control manager’s approval before instructing our debt collection agency. Ensuring all corresponding documentation is sent.
- Assisting the credit control manager with court letters and paperwork ensuring attention to detail at all times. Checking of supporting evidence and calculation of statutory and contractual interest.
- Assessing each individual credit control account during the invoice run and dealing with as necessary.
- Answering telephone calls, dealing with client queries and re-directing as required.
- Any other duties reasonably requested by the Practice.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £13,250.00-£15,299.00 per year

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)
- Administrative experience: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
