**About the Role**

THG is looking to recruit a People Assistant to join the team in our ICON 2, South Manchester Distribution Centre. As a team, we are providing a professional HR support service to the distribution and warehousing areas of the business.

The People Assistant will report to a People Advisor and support them in key areas including providing first-line HR advice and guidance to colleagues and managers, supporting employee relations cases, employee engagement, data analysis and HR project work.

For this role, you will need to be happy working independently to support Managers in our ICON 2 Operations campus.

**Role Requirements**

General HR support
- The role will be the first line of support for general queries, including the daily management of the site People Team Inbox as well as a face-to-face point of contact.
- Host the HR Surgery drop-in sessions. This will be the opportunity to collate any queries and be a face-to-face touch point for teams to discuss any issues.
- Co-ordinate with shared service functions; Payroll, T&A, HR Shared Service and People Data team to escalate employee queries.

Employee Relations
- Provide advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures to colleagues and managers as required
- Support on ER cases in ICON 2 including sickness cases, flexible working requests, performance management, grievance-, and disciplinary processes.
- Support on welfare discussions, Occupational Health referrals, amended duties processes, and capability processes
- Support with probation discussions and absence review meetings
- Send all correspondence in relation to AWOL, and support Managers with the processes.
- Work closely with the Advisor on casework, understanding the company process and policies

Data and Reporting
- Provision of data and attendance to the daily meetings onsite - Attendance/Return to Work compliance/Agency Fulfilment
- Conduct regular checks and audits on the HR system data to ensure the correctness of the People data.
- Support on the content creation and maintenance of online resource platforms such as the People Team SharePoint and the People Team Hub

Engagement & Development
- Support on the creation and roll-out of engagement activities on-site
- Content creation for publications including site newsletters and division magazines.
- Ownership of site communications boards and ensure that the boards are updated regularly and in line with the People communication strategy
- Support the creation and delivery of Peak engagement and People events
- Support on colleague recognition initiatives including long service awards and employee of the month
- Support operational processes such as floor walks and staff shops
- Support in driving the completion of engagement surveys
- Support site employee forum meetings and processes

Projects and Other
- Support the site People Team in delivering any People projects or initiatives
