Management Liability Underwriter

**Description**:
We have a great opportunity for an experienced Management Liability Underwriter (MLP) to join the team, focussing on underwriting within the MLP portfolio, to maximise our opportunity for growth and profitability. Partnering and developing our key strategic and highly valued premier broker accounts, the role will require a confident and credible individual to make decisions and recommendations to assist in the development and control of profitable underwriting, supporting new and existing opportunities, whilst monitoring the performance of management liability products.
Above all, we are looking for a real team player, that is able to make a difference across both their own teams and other internal and external stakeholders.

**What you’ll be doing**:
- Provide efficient and accurate case by case underwriting decisions in line with the team strategy and operational plans.
- Portfolio development and management, partnering our brokerage accounts
- Provide efficient and accurate case by case underwriting decisions on all management liability referrals into CCU in line with strategy and operations plans.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure that business needs are achieved.
- Training, coaching and development of underwriters/junior underwriters, sales staff and brokers to ensure they are competent in their role through improved knowledge.
- Ensure cross-sell strategy embedded into the branch culture.
- Working closely with our AXA Technical Centre
**Qualifications**:
- A level or equivalent, with a Professional qualification, CII (or similar). CII Diploma in Insurance (minimum), CII Advanced Diploma in Insurance preferable.
- Underwriting and management of individual complex cases, portfolios and schemes.
- Excellent broker relationships and presentation skills
- Detailed Management Liability product knowledge.
- Excellent negotiation skills and interpersonal skills.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorized to work in the United Kingdom.
