** We are looking to cover 40 hours per week whether that be taken on by a single person or a job share between two people **

It is the aim of The Veterinary Centre to provide the best possible care for companion animals and their owners in a friendly and supportive environment.

Responsible to: The Head Receptionist and Administrators.

The Role: The role of the receptionist encompasses:

- Telephone answering and dealing with the client requests.
- Making appointments, attending to clients and taking payments.
- Ensuring that the reception and waiting room areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Ensuring that there is adequate stock of counter sale products and that these are priced up correctly.
- Processing new clients: Ensuring a history has been obtained from their previous vet prior to their appointment, and that the client is asked to arrive 15 min before their scheduled appointment to complete a new client registration form.
- Attending to the task lists.
- To process client food and non POM-V orders.
- To accept client insurance forms, note date accepted on the clients record and place it in the appropriate location for processing.
- To liaise with the appropriate veterinary teams to ensure effective communications between the clients and staff concerned.
- To deal with minor complaints.
- To telephone clients for payments under the direction of the Financial and Administrations Manager.
- To ensure the diary is managed appropriately.
- To open up reception in the morning and be ready to accept the first client at 8am. Rooms should be prepared, and computer stations turned on ready to go.
- To ensure the smooth running of front of house on a daily basis.
- To ensure client safety in the event of a fire.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £7.49-£10.68 per hour

**Experience**:

- Veterinary Receptionist: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer Service: 1 year (preferred)
