We have a vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant in the Individual Learning (IL) Department to work with a student in our Preparatory School who is autistic. The Learning Support Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the student in achieving a comprehensive and enjoyable learning journey during their time at Pipers Corner.
**Job Salary** Competitive, dependent on experience
**Contract Type** Fixed term for one year
**Hours** Term time only 30-37.5 hours per week, across five days

**About us**:
Pipers Corner is a Girls’ School Association Independent School for girls aged 4-18. Set in 96 acres of beautiful Chiltern countryside, the school is four miles north of High Wycombe and two miles from Great Missenden. In its most recent ISI inspection (March 2023) the school was graded as “excellent” in all categories.
**About the role**:
We have a vacancy for a Learning Support Assistant in the Individual Learning (IL) Department to work with a student in our Preparatory School who is autistic. The Learning Support Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the student in achieving a comprehensive and enjoyable learning journey during their time at Pipers Corner.
Previous experience of working with students with SEND including Autism is desirable but not essential.
Full training and support will be available.
**About you**:
Experience/Knowledge
- Proven experience of working in a support role to young people
- Ability to understand and support the KS2 curriculum
- Proven experience of working with students with autism
- Knowledge and experience of working with students with SEND
Key Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Confident with using ICT to support in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis when required
- Ability to support the student in and out of the classroom with managing and organising interactions
Personal Attributes
- Patient, calm, kind, empathetic
- Ability to build a rapport to support the student’s confidence in their ability both academically and socially
- To monitor social and emotional development at breaks and lunchtimes
