This is a fabulous opportunity to join a great team working in a privately owned nursing home set in the most beautiful surroundings.

**You will have the opportunity to**
- cook a wide variety of fresh, mainly locally sourced produce on a daily changing menu which will give you the chance to be creative and tempt the appetite
- work in a friendly, well equipped kitchen
- be able to maintain a work / life balance, working sociable hours with planned rotas
- the hours can be tailored to the individual but will include some weekends and evenings

**You will be**
- performing a varied role alongside a professional team, preparing and cooking nutritious, delicious meals for our 43 residents, guests and staff
- making freshly cooked dishes from scratch each day.
- ensuring that our residents dietary needs and well-being are taken care of whilst presenting dishes in an attractive, appetising manner. You will need to be mindful of the appetites of each of the residents and how they prefer to consume food
- providing support to our Head Cook and taking responsibility in their absence. This will include being involved in managing stock levels, stock rotation, food ordering and ensuring HACCP and COSHH regulations are adhered to
- Clear and consistent communication skills are essential, both with other team members and other departments
- have at least 5 years cooking experience in a professional kitchen, with experience in a nursing home environment
- be able to communicate effectively and possess excellent English language skills, both verbal and written
- be confident and competent to cover the Head Cook when required.
- show reliability and responsibility, along with a positive “can do” attitude
- understand that we operate 7days a week, 365 days of the year and as such should have a flexible approach to hours and role
- appreciate the importance of attention to detail, ensuring each resident is treated as an individual
- have own transport; we are approximately 2.5 miles from the centre of Winchester and bus services are not always suitable. Parking is provided free of charge
- Above all else
- love COOKING and TASTING food

**We will**

**Salary**: £12.00-£15.00 per hour
