**Waking Nights Support Worker**

**Shift**:
8.30pm - 8.00am (this is our expected night shift but it may change slightly depending on the routines of the young adults)

Full time would be x3 night shifts per week

Part time would be x2 night shifts per week

**Job Overview**:
Provide overnight support and supervision in a 4-bed transitional home for young adults with learning disabilities and autism, ensuring safety, well-being, and a supportive environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Monitor and respond to the needs of the young adults during the night and in the morning.
- Assist with personal care and provide reassurance during sleep disturbances.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure young adults safety.
- Respond promptly to emergencies following protocols.
- Administer medications as needed.
- Record and report health concerns or incidents.
- Perform light cleaning and prepare the home for morning.
- Log nightly activities and communicate key updates to day staff.
- Follow policies on safeguarding, confidentiality, and health and safety.
- Promote independence while supporting the young adults respectfully.
- Use de-escalation techniques for behaviours that challenge and provide emotional support.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a care role working with young people or adults with learning disabilities and autism.
