Our Programme Coordinator (Public Weather Service) will work a hybrid pattern of homeworking and a minimum of one day per month in Exeter HQ.

As our Programme Coordinator (Public Weather Service), your starting salary will be £30932.00 and you will have opportunities to progress to £33925.00 over time. New joiners to the Met Office will start on the salary band mínima.
Your total reward package is potentially worth up to £43,125 annually, which includes basic salary, potential corporate bonus and employer pension contributions.

**Job description**:
The Met Office Public Weather Service (PWS) provides a range of weather information and National Severe Weather Warnings to enable the UK public and civil contingency community to make informed decisions in their day-to-day activities, to optimise or mitigate against the impact of the weather, and to contribute to the protection of life, property and basic infrastructure.
This role is key in providing performance reporting to the Met Office owning department, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the PWS Customer Group, an independent group who oversees the Public Weather Service from the perspective of its users.
As our Programme Coordinator (Public Weather Service), the key duties are:
- Lead co-ordination, production and delivery of monthly performance reporting, continually reviewing and improving reporting methodologies.
- Responsible for creation of the end of year Performance Reporting to evidence completion of the in-year Performance Measures & Delivery Milestones.
- Maintain data sources and data flows required for reporting against performance measures.
- Lead co-ordination of action tracker to ensure all actions are completed on time.
- Manage team SharePoint site and liaise with counterpart in BEIS to ensure information is managed well and easily accessible for the wider “virtual” team.
- Provide additional support to delivery and analysis of complex market and customer intelligence projects where needed.

**Essential Qualifications, Skills & Abilities**:
- Evidence of a strong ability to collate, analyse and report management information, including designing data gathering, storage and analysis methods and delivering recommendations of options based on effective analysis.
- Ability to identify emerging issues in monitored activities, to prioritise resultant actions and opportunities, and to develop solutions to complex issues, knowing when to seek assistance from peers and when to escalate (_live and breathe it_).
- Ability to analyse and visualise data and information from differing sources and summarise results in an easily understandable way.
- A clear communicator, with the ability to convey complex information in a way that can be clearly understood by non-specialist users or audiences, for e.g. developing presentations and proposals.
- Proven track record of working collaboratively to connect people and teams who can do more together, to deliver results (_better together_).
- Excellent organisation skills to ensure the right information is given to the right people at the right time, such as provision of timely reporting.
**Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Abilities**:
- Experience in using Microsoft Power Bi and Microsoft Dynamics would be beneficial but not essential as training can be provided.
