**Job Title**: Head of Regular Giving
**Salary**: £38,000 - £42,000
**Reports to**: Director of Development
**Contract**: Permanent, 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
**Location**: Fern House, Newry (option for hybrid working)
AIM
To be responsible for the strategic leadership and operational delivery of Regular Giving income for Southern Area Hospice (SAH), this includes individual giving, legacy, gift aid, in-memory fundraising, direct marketing and lottery. They will take an innovative approach to identify and leverage appropriate strategies which will generate income for, and raise the profile of, the Hospice across the Southern Health Trust area on a long term and sustained basis.
To work closely with the Director of Development to ensure the delivery of annual budgets to enable the Hospice to continue its ongoing delivery and development of services to meet the growing needs of the community it serves.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Strategic Responsibilities
Design, execute and monitor a comprehensive Regular Giving strategy, that is aligned with the Hospice’s strategic plan, to develop and grow income.
Identify new and improved ways of working to maximise the Hospice’s full income generation potential within the pillar as well as developing the Hospice’s brand and visibility.
Develop and maintain key external and internal relationships critical to the achievement of planned objectives.
In conjunction with Communications and Marketing and the wider Income Generation team, proactively seek ways to enhance the Hospice’s brand to promote greater understanding of its services and work.
Operational Responsibilities
Develop, deliver and evaluate Regular Giving operational plans which support the overarching growth plan for the Hospice.
Line management of the Regular Giving Officer to develop and grow the pillar.
Oversee individual giving campaigns, ensuring that key audiences understand SAH’s impact and are motivated to donate.
Ensure gift aid processes are optimised.
Agree KPI’s and manage key relationships with third parties contracted to recruit new donors.
Manage and develop the existing legacy strategy to enhance donations in this area.
Oversee all aspects of the lottery operation, including compliance, marketing, and supporter engagement to ensure player number growth and retention.
Oversee the management of the CRM database, ensuring accurate donor records, segmentation, and excellent communication.
Develop and manage an annual budget which supports the delivery of the annual operational plan, ensuring appropriate return on investment.
Report on performance against budget (income and costs) monthly, identifying corrective actions to take in the case of any shortfall.
Agree appropriate KPIs and report on them monthly to drive performance and inform decision making.
Use CRM data and insights to monitor performance and inform strategic decision-making.
Work with the CRM provider to ensure the system is being maximised and used effectively across the team.
Ensure excellent donor stewardship, creating clear donor journeys for retention and growth.
Governance Responsibilities
Ensure the delivery of governance requirements and processes for the Regular Giving function.
Provide assurance on compliance with regulatory requirements and good fundraising practice on all aspects of Regular Giving fundraising, ensuring effective records management to maintain confidentiality and security, including GDPR compliance.
Adhere to and support compliance with internal policies and procedures.
Deliver projects to the highest professional standards.
Attend and participate in organisational and team meetings.
Leadership & People Management Responsibilities
Maintain high professional standards and keep abreast of relevant issues, ensuring own personal and professional development.
Provide visible and effective leadership and management to the team, including any volunteers, creating a supportive yet forward focused culture which is supported by a focus on targets, results and performance.
Set clear team objectives and performance metrics that support the delivery of the strategy and ensure the team receives regular supervision, performance feedback and support to develop.
Ensure adherence to all organisational policies and procedures and proactively manage issues and poor performance.
Promote collaboration and joined up working with other departments, and across the wider Income Generation team, to ensure an appropriately integrated approach to all activities and promote good working relationships.

Create and embed a culture of excellence and innovation to drive growth and sustainability which is driven by fresh thinking, underpinned by commercial focus and quality.
Keep abreast of external trends and potential opportunities, ensuring the effective use of benchmarking and industry standards to identify opportunities to grow income.
Represent SAHS at events as required.
