Sellick Partnership are working exclusively with Ernst & Young on a retained basis to recruit a Director, who will lead the set-up of the Northern Strategy & Transactions division within the Corporate Finance and Restructuring function, to focus on the FinancialServices M&A / equity transactions.
The UK division headed up in London have developed a strong footprint in the Manchester & Leeds markets, with some marque deals and an enviable success rate of repeat business. As a result of an increasing pipeline, EY now wants to establish a presence on theground to drive the growth strategy in the North, to service the current client base whilst executing new deals, utilising the significant market insight the business has at its disposal.

Working with a Partner, the Director of Corporate Finance will be overseeing the execution of transactions on a day-to-day basis as well as being the most senior individual within the initial M&A team within Manchester. As the Director of Corporate Finance,you will lead the development of the division from networking new and existing clients, driving growth of executed deals, build the team from the ground up and quickly become recognised internally and externally as the go to individual for the Northern M&Aat EY.
**General responsibilities of the Director of Corporate Finance**:

- Acting as the main point of contact for clients (financial service sector) during the transaction process, advising on strategy and tactics, providing sector and transaction insights
- Setting and driving the transaction timetable
- Negotiating with counterparties and their advisers
- Supporting new business development through taking an important role on client pitches as well as growing the visibility of the Strategy & Transactions team within Manchester and the North West
- Developing your own business network with a view to increasing your origination capabilities over the medium term
- Build the team from scratch to 20
- Ensuring quality on all client deliverables, leading the management of the firm's risk and control costs against budget
- Deliver in the following areas - Funding Option Reviews, Acquisitions, Disposals, raising equity, debt financing & restructuring

**Key requirements of the Director of Corporate Finance**:
Whilst significant deal origination experience is not essential given the depth of insight EY has access to, it would be advantageous. A significant network and deal execution experience is absolutely essential. Experience in one or more of the followingareas is essential: Insurance, Banking / Specialty Finance, Wealth / Asset Management, FX/Payments, Asset Servicing, Fintech and other relevant sector verticals

Ideally you will be based in Manchester / Leeds or willing to relocate to grow your already existing network in mid-cap financial institutions, banks, private equity houses and entrepreneurial businesses in the region.

**Key benefits of the Director of Corporate Finance role**:

- Base salary of £120,000 - £140,000
- Car allowance up to £5,500
- Bonus scheme up to 25% and potentially can be exceeded.
