Web Content Project Lead

**Job Purpose**
The College of Science and Engineering consists of six world leading and internationally excellent STEM schools that deliver world changing research and learning and teaching.
Research within the College of Science & Engineering addresses critical scientific questions, industrial and global challenges. Our researchers collaborate across disciplines, institutions with industry, policymakers, charities and practitioners, supplying new insights and solutions across sectors.
You will proactively contribute towards supporting and delivering the strategic aims and ambitions of the College of Science and Engineering by delivering a web refresh content project for the College and its constituent schools. For the duration of the project period, you will act as Principal Web Publisher for the College to support the day-to-day development and maintenance of web content.
You will amplify awareness of our work and support activation of new audiences by planning and implementing an overarching web content strategy and refresh project for the College that is bespoke to each School and service area that services each School’s strategic vision and is aligned with the overarching Strategy: World Changers Together; and specifically, the Research Strategy.
**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
1. Delivery of a discovery phase by carrying out stakeholder consultation, interrogating user analytics, carrying out competitor analysis and developing personas for the various external audiences (future students, industry and academic collaborators, prospective staff, media, public.)
2. Deliver end to end web content refresh for all themes of priority including robust user testing.
3. Prioritise the various themes of priority (thematic research content, PGR (postgraduate research) user journey, academic staff profiles, School navigation improvement, collaborator engagement tools) and systematically progress implementation of refresh project concurrently.
5. Responsible as Principal Web Publisher and supporting day to day College web activities.
6. Set up a college web publisher network to engage with the refresh project to brainstorm, share good practice, design guidelines and processes that future proof the work of the first refresh.
7. Facilitate and signpost training for web contributors and be the College’s supportive source of advice on design and usability.
8. Support digital content development by actively engaging with activities in collaboration with colleagues in the External Relations Web Team, College Marketing and Research Support teams.
9. Work within the University Web Security, Standards & Protocols for web development and deployment.
**Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience**
**Knowledge/ Qualifications**
**Essential**:
A1 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 9 [Ordinary Degree, Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4] or equivalent, [including professional accreditation with relevant formal training], and experience of personal development in a similar role.
A2 Project Management Qualification (such as Masters, APM, capturing and use of Trello boards for user stories etc.) and practical experience of executing web projects.
A3 Detailed practical knowledge and experience of Google Analytics and digital auditing tools.
A4 Up to date practical knowledge of best practice in digital content management for all platforms.
A5 Practical user experience and user interface design practices.
**Experience**
**Essential**:
C1 Experience of end-to-end delivery of web content refresh projects in large and complex organisations.
C2 Expert level experience of web content editing using a content management system (such as T4.)
C3 Experience of user testing and auditing digital content in line with public sector accessibility legislation.
C5 Experience of creating, updating and owning guidance documents and delivering training to individual or small groups of users.
C6 Experience of working in a team environment using agile principles.
**Desirable**:
D1 Experience of working in a Higher Education Institution or within a complex third sector organisation.

E1 Digital copywriting and editing skills and precise attention to detail.
E2 Proven ability to work autonomously and flexibly, adapting to changing priorities and confidently deliver results.
E3 Strong organisational skills with solid working practice of regularly reporting on progress and delivering on objectives.
E4 Excellent verbal, written and oral communication with the ability to form strong working relationships with all colleagues including senior leadership.
E5 Ability to influence and persuade change and prove benefits using evidence-led approach.
E6 Strategic thinker with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
**Desirable**:
F1 Video and image editing skills using Adobe Premier Pro/Photoshop or similar editing software.
