**Human Resources Director** **Milton Keynes - Hybrid working** **£72,500 circa** **Permanent** **Bonus up to 30%, BUPA healthcare + other outstanding benefits** We are recruiting for a Human Resources Director to join a UK Industry expert in electricity metering, data and carbon & energy management services. Overall responsibility for all HR strategy, activities, policies, and programmes, including the people strategy. The major areas covered are organisational planning, organisational development, employment, training and development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, health and safety, and employee services. Reporting to the CEO as the highest-ranking Human Resources executive in the business. Assists and advises the senior management on Human Resources issues. **Job purpose**: - Developing and implementing a strategy that aligns with the business strategy. - Design, implement and recommend Human Resources policies, procedures, and objectives for the entire business. To create a clear, concise, and cohesive HR policy framework. - Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee engagement. - Identifies the legal people requirements and government reporting regulations. Monitors the exposure of the business. - Directs a process of organisational planning that evaluates structure, job design, and manpower forecasting throughout the business. - Develop, monitor and report on key people performance indicators as are necessary to carry out the functions of the department. - Create and direct a Talent Management strategy to attract, develop and retain teams, including succession planning. - Establishes best in class recruiting and placement practices and procedures. - Manages payroll services. Establishes wage and salary structure, pay policies, performance appraisal programmes, and employee benefit programmes and services. - Selects and coordinates use of Human Resources partners e.g. consultants, insurance brokers, insurance carriers, pension administrators, training specialists, external legal advisors. - Conducts a continuing study of all Human Resources policies, programmes, and practices to keep the business informed of new developments. Delivering effective management of all external contact for HR related topics. - Responsible for the selection, deployment (working with IT) and use of, HR supporting systems; their use to support HR processes and the maintenance of data HR Systems that effectively support HR processes across the Business. - Responsible for the training of best-in-class HR practices to managers and employees. **Skills & knowledge**: - An experienced HR Director / Head of HR - Comfortable operating effectively as part of a senior Leadership team. - Best-in-class knowledge of all the core HR disciplines including Talent, Succession and Performance Management, Recruitment, Compensation and Benefits, Employee/ Industrial Relations, Learning & Development and Business partnering. Accordingly, they willhave established and implemented the necessary processes, policies, and frameworks. - Ability and desire to be both strategic and hands-on is critical. Able to see the big picture and contribute to formulating a strategy while also having the experience and capacity to drive through execution and have a "hands on" approach. - Strong business/commercial acumen and a proven record of contributing to the business and strategic agenda as part of a senior leadership team. - Experience of supporting organisations through growth, integration, and cultural transformation. A transformational outlook: someone who is not only comfortable with change, but naturally takes a lead in driving it. - Experience of the Energy industry, corporate development activities, including mergers, joint ventures, and alliances all would be a plus. - While experience of operating in Private Equity-backed businesses would be preferable, it is not a pre-requisite. - Rational, pragmatic and data driven.
