**Role Overview**:
We’re looking for an experienced, confident and flexible communications professional to join our in-house PR team. This is an exciting opportunity to support in protecting and promoting the reputation of Allianz through a range of public relations activities.

The PR team supports all areas of the Allianz Holdings UK business including Commercial and Personal Lines, Operations, HR and Claims with a primary focus on the insurance trade media.

Through strong account management, close collaboration and an awareness of industry issues you’ll be able to devise and implement business area plans and act as a trusted advisor to business spokespeople and key stakeholders.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Devising and implementing a programme of PR activity in collaboration with other members of the Allianz communications team, with the aim of promoting and protecting the brand
- Acting as a trusted and expert advisor to spokespeople across Allianz, working with them to promote Allianz’s products and services through the media
- Proactively seeking opportunities primarily in insurance trade media but with an eye for national opportunities to raise the profile of the organisation, in support of its objectives
- Responding quickly and accurately to breaking or negative stories in order to limit potentially damaging media coverage, providing guidance and support to senior stakeholders
- Researching, writing and distributing press releases, statements and blogs to media
- Building strong relationships with media, industry members and external partners
- Monitoring and evaluating media performance in cooperation with external consultancies where appropriate
- Developing content for social media and being part of the team managing this channel
- Working closely with other departments, including Marketing, Public Affairs, Digital and Internal Comms to take ownership of and deliver certain projects.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Significant experience in media relations management
- Excellent written, verbal and oral communication skills
- Ability to offer high level strategic advice across media relations
- Skills and experience in managing media activity of a sensitive nature in relation to crises and incidents
- High level of interpersonal skills to be able to build relationships with influential journalists
- Comfortable dealing with all levels of management and staff
- Experience working with other departments to create integrated PR plans, including Social Media
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast paced environment
- A positive ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to work as part of a team or independently
- Acting as a trusted, expert advisor to senior management
- Analytical thinking, able to identify trends through data and break down complex information to appeal to the media.

An added bonus:

- Good network of journalist contacts in national personal finance and financial trade media
- Experience in financial services/insurance public relations
- Able to occasionally be on call to deal with urgent media enquiries during evenings or weekends.
