**About the Trust**
George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust provides a range of elective, non-elective, surgical, medical, women’s, children’s, diagnostic and therapeutic services to a population of more than 300,000 people. The hospital opened in 1948.
The hub of the Trust is located on the outskirts of Nuneaton and its services cover a large footprint, including north Warwickshire, south west Leicestershire, and north Coventry.
The Trust also provides a range of community services, delivered across Coventry, Warwickshire, and Leicestershire. These include sexual health and community dentistry services for the whole of Warwickshire as well as hosting the Blue Sky Sexual Assault Referral Centre.
**What you’ll be responsible for**:
- Deal efficiently and effectively with direct and indirect (i.e. telephone, face to face) enquiries from all levels of medical and nursing staff and other health professionals and staff and patients and their families. Respond to complex enquiries, providing routine and non-routine information and non-clinical advice/guidance, resolving problems where possible. Communicate appropriately with all levels of staff groups. To sensitively provide and receive complex information using tact and adapting communication style to meet the needs of individual levels of understanding. Recognise the importance of timely management of controlled documents in accordance with legislation, policy, and procedures.
- Attend to all communications/enquiries on a daily basis. Use judgement to undertake an assessment of content/facts/situations to determine the appropriate course of action and the priority for the Governance Team’s attention.
- Accurately transcribe all correspondence by touch typing from audio/digital dictation or shorthand using knowledge of medical terminology. Generate routine and non-routine correspondence independently.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

- Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
- A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation
**You’ll have the following qualification/experience**:
- Experience of communicating effectively with a variety of professionals and outside agencies
- Exercises Judgment when dealing with governance enquiries and analysing data to support & resolve
- Knowledge of governance/secretarial procedures
- Excellent office administration support skill set
