Life Science Solicitor

We have a rare opportunity for an exceptional Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join a full-service international law firm, working with clients in the world’s most dynamic industries. Their impressive client base ranges from promising new start-ups to multinationalleaders of industry. Ideally we are looking for an associate with 2-6 years’ PQE, with the majority of the associate's work being life science and healthcare related, though associates will have the opportunity assist on matters in tech and other sectors.
Main Responsibilities:
- To draft, review and advise on a wide range of commercial contracts in the life science and healthcare sectors involving start-ups through to multinationals.
- The role will involve client contact from the beginning, and the associate will be expected to communicate with clients independently and under supervision, given their experience level
- The associate will be a point of contact when liaising with partners and associates in other departments or national offices on corporate and other transactional or regulatory work.
- To manage all work allocated by partners and other team members.
Are you a creative thinker, problem solver and continuous learners who excels at what you do?
- Extraordinary academics - STEM undergraduate degree in a technical area is helpful but not required.
- A UK and Wales qualified solicitor with 2-6 PQE and relevant legal experience gained from a top tier UK practice
- Prior experience in a well-regarded life sciences team, advising a range of clients within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medtech industries.
- Strong IP background with transactional or commercial experience is beneficial
- Excellent prior experience of advising, drafting, and reviewing contracts and agreements
- Sound knowledge and experience providing detailed advice on the laws and rules relating to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology medical device and health sectors.
- Experience advising on a range of compliance issues (including industry codes of practice) in the pharmaceutical, medical device and healthcare sectors.
- Experience of M&A life sciences transactions is preferred but not a pre-requisite.
- Working with commercial arrangements for life sciences companies, such as clinical trial agreements, HCP agreements, economic operator/ UKRP etc
- Eager to undertake business development activities to support the on-going development of the Life Sciences Group
