**Accounts Assistant**

James Bell & Co are looking for an experienced accounts assistant to join our accountancy practice in Ayr. We provide accountancy, tax, vat, payroll and bookkeeping services to a range of clients covering many industry sectors. This would be a great opportunity for an enthusiastic accounts assistant/bookkeeper ready to take the next step in their career within a small, local and friendly accountancy practice.

Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

Proficiency in cloud-based accounting software, such as Sage and Auto Entry

Strong Excel knowledge

Solid bookkeeping experience and understanding of double entry bookkeeping

Knowledge of accounting principles and practices

Good communication skills

The ability to complete small business annual accounts to draft stage would also be beneficial.

**Duties would include**:
Reconciliation of bank and cash accounts

Reconciliation of sales and purchase ledger accounts

Reconciliation of other balance sheet accounts, such as net wages and PAYE

Performing quarter end and year end processes

Assist with the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies

Liaise with clients to collect documentation and resolve queries.

Other ad hoc duties as required.

**Salary**:
Dependent on experience
