**Job Description Experienced Bar Staff/ Front of House**

The Star is a well established family friendly village pub with rooms set in beautiful countryside on the Nottinghamshire/Leicestershire border. We are currently looking for an experienced Bar Staff member to join our happy team. If you’re looking for a full or part time job in your local area, have customer care skills and enjoy working in a busy environment, we’d love to have a chat with you.

**About the Role**

This role involves interacting with customers and ensuring there is a positive, and friendly atmosphere within the pub’s public areas. Tasks may include greeting guests, serving food and drinks, managing bookings, and keeping a clean and welcoming environment. You will be the face of the pub, interacting directly with our valued customers and ultimately shape their overall experience.

**Key Responsibilities and Skills Required**

**Customer Interaction**

Welcome guests, take orders, serve food and drinks and provide excellent customer support. Strong customer service skills are vital; you should be attentive, helpful and be able to resolve issues to ensure customer satisfaction.

**Order Management**

Accurately take orders and relay them to the kitchen or bar. Ensure timely delivery of food and drinks.

**Table Management**

Seat guests, clear tables, set up for the next service and keep the dining area tidy.

**Bar Service**

Prepare and serve drinks, ensure responsible alcohol service.

**Payment Handling**

Basic maths skills are required to process payments and handle both cash and credit card transactions. Provide accurate bills.

**Maintaining Standards**

Ensuring the pub’s public areas are clean, organised and welcoming for customers. As the pub’s front of house representative, you should look neat and presentable at all times.

**What We’re Looking For**
- Previous experience in restaurant or bar (hotel or pub experience a plus)
- Strong bartending skills
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle challenges diplomatically
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining standards
- Excellent communication skills
