We are actively seeking a Contract Senior Automation Tester with skills in both Protractor and Cypress to join our amazing Agile Scrum team. The contract will run for an initial 3 month period with the potential to extend thereafter.

We are looking for a seasoned Automation Tester who can make an immediate impact by assisting the team in creating a new testing framework using Cypress as we move away from Protractor in the coming months.

You will have the opportunity to test our flagship enterprise grade SaaS solution, Canopy Cloud, which is written in modern day technologies within a GCP eco-system. We are looking to hire an individual who is able to influence the overall quality of the software produced using the latest test-first strategies and methodologies.

**Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure best practices are in place and adhered to in order to maintain high levels of software quality
- Deliver functional as well as non-functional test plan documentation in-line with the Test Policy.
- Deliver test reports and a matrix of coverage to confirm the quality of the delivered release.
- Work in an agile test role as part of a scrum team incorporating the full testing lifecycle for both functional and non-functional testing.
- Take a lead role defining an automation strategy
- Build and maintain an automation framework to deliver tests for both E-2-E and API testing to enhance the ability to carry out quick regression testing in an ever-changing environment.
- Define and execute non-functional tests which will include API, load and performance testing using ITG’s preferred technologies.
- Define and execute scripted manual test scenarios and maintain the catalogue of tests.
- Carry out thorough exploratory testing when required.

**Requirements**:

- Experience working in a SaaS and cloud product development team.
- Highly experienced defining an automated test framework executed within a CI build process preferably Git Lab.
- Highly experienced defining and implementing automated test scenarios.
- Manual testing expertise in order to properly analyse scope for automation coverage.
- Strong Typescript/JavaScript coding skills with experience of developing automation tests from scratch.
- Experience of migrating tests from one framework to another.
- Strong experience of Protractor, Cucumber-js, Mocha, Cypress, Chai, WebdriverIO. Node.js, NPM Manager.
- Load and Performance testing experience using tools like Artillery, JMeter or Gatling.
- Experience in recording and testing Restful API tests using tools like Postman with the ability to automate into a Java or JavaScript framework.
- Excellent understanding of Behavioural Driven Development (BDD) using Cucumber and JGiven.
- Experience working in web development teams using technologies such as React or Angular, Java, RESTful APIs/micros-services, Swagger, relational and NoSQL databases.
- Atlassian toolset experience - JIRA, Confluence.
- Excellent understanding of the agile delivery cycle with experience of working in an agile environment.
- Experience working with DevOps and integrating automated test execution in CI/CD build pipelines.
