- Alexandra House is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join the team.
Alexandra House is located in Gloucester. Our service offers residential support for nine males and females with a learning disability, who may also have a physical disability. We are off a main road, near to the town centre.
What you'll be doing
- You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a Support Worker, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
You may also have to:
- Provide personal care support with sensitivity to individual needs and preferences
- Support daily living skills to promote independence (e.g., dressing, grooming, meal preparation)
- Accompany and assist clients in community outings such as shopping, social events, and shows, ensuring safety and positive experiences
- Use de-escalation techniques and positive behaviour support strategies to manage challenging behaviours calmly and respectfully
