The DMS CDIO function is currently recruiting for a number of positions in all aspects of Digital Transformation ranging from Service Delivery through to Information Security and Data Exploitation. For this campaign we are looking for an Assistant Head Data

**Job description**:

- Assistant Head Data will be the SME for Data activity across the Defence Medical Services**Person specification**:
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Lead and deliver the DMS Data Strategy
- Lead and develop a central data capability providing a service to the Defence Medical Services in accordance with Data Management Association (DAMA) principles
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Data within Defence Medical Services
- Identify opportunities for new and innovative data products
- Lead a multidisciplinary team ensuring business priorities are met through the flexible deployment of resources

**Selection process details**:

- Experience of designing and developing a data function
- Experience managing diverse teams
- Experience of Data Governance (including Data Standards, and Data Quality)
- Experience of developing strong relationships across multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent organisation skills with ability to manage multiple projects.
- Experience of translating data in clear and compelling ways to a variety of audiences
- Experience of delivering a range of data products

Please note the salary will be pro-rata where part time hours are undertaken.

This job role may be suitable for hybrid working, which is an informal, non-contractual and voluntary arrangement, blending a balance of attendance in the workplace (your permanent duty station which is based on business assessment of where the work is best done) and working from home as a personal choice (if the role is suitable for this).
