**About the Role**:
As a **Bookkeeper/Information Officer**, you will play a key role in both managing financial operations and providing strategic insights to support the business. With a direct line to our accountants, you will assist in year-end statutory reporting while taking ownership of critical financial and operational tasks. This role is ideal for someone looking to deliver on the essentials while identifying opportunities to enhance processes through automation, digitization, and strategic initiatives.
The organizational structure includes two Operations Consultants overseeing the restaurants, making this an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team driving growth and success. There is also scope for the role to evolve, allowing you to take on additional responsibilities and truly make the position your own.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Maintain accurate financial records, including reconciliations, invoices, and payroll data.
- Assist with year-end statutory reporting in collaboration with external accountants.
- Compile and present a comprehensive business plan to support strategic decision-making.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement digitization/automation to streamline operations.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring compliance with internal controls.
- Manage and analyze business data, presenting actionable insights and reports to the CEO.
- Prepare high-quality PowerPoint presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Generate financial reports and forecasts to aid decision-making.
- Demonstrate a strong balance between strategic planning and operational execution.
**What We’re Looking For**:
- **Educational Background**: A minimum of a 2:1 degree from a recognised university. Degrees in Maths, Economics, Business Studies, or Data Analytics are preferred but not essential.
- **Previous Experience**: Prior experience in bookkeeping, data management, or accounting is preferred but not essential.
- **Technical Expertise**: Advanced knowledge of Xero, ApprovalMax, and Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas) is essential. PowerPoint skills are critical for creating effective presentations. Python skills for data analysis and reporting are a strong advantage.
- **Strategic and Detail-Oriented**: Able to provide strategic insights while ensuring the basics of financial management are delivered to a high standard.
- **Proactive and Motivated**: A self-starter who takes initiative, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and excels in independent yet collaborative work settings.
- **Strong Communication Skills**: Able to build relationships across teams and effectively communicate insights and plans.
