Senior Travel Specialist

**SENIOR TRAVEL SPECIALIST - FRENCH SPEAKING**

Routescape is a dynamic and rapidly expanding tailor-made travel company that prides itself on offering clients’ unique experiences.

As we expand the countries we offer to our clients we are looking to offer France as a stand-alone destination. As a French Speaking Senior Travel Specialist, you will be passionate about inspiring your clients with outstanding travel advice and brilliant customer service. You will be highly motivated and ambitious individual in this 360-degree role, managing sales, handling initial inquiries, booking details and to receiving customer feedback.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Prepare detailed, accurate and high-quality itineraries, reflecting the client’s interests, and selecting the most appropriate accommodation and excursions.
- Use a variety of sales techniques and communication methods to convert as many enquiries into bookings as possible meeting or exceeding the set and agreed turnaround, sales, conversion and margin targets.
- Act as the single point of contact for your clients from the moment they enquire up until they return from their travels.
- Maintain a positive relationship and strong lines of communication with all suppliers. Work with a Routescape Travel Operations Assistant to ensure all components of the itinerary are booked correctly, negotiating better rates where possible.
- To cost each itinerary accurately, competitively and to the required level of quality of the Routescape brand within the agreed time frame whilst maintaining creativity.
- To actively investigate new products and opportunities to achieve greater sales to existing and new clients.
- To write the final itinerary and check all supplier bookings in the lead up to the departure date to ensure the itinerary runs smoothly.
- To be available to be allocated shifts on the on-call to cover the emergency duty mobile - should clients need support while travelling.
- General office duties such as answering telephone etc.
- Any other reasonable duties as requested by the Manager/Supervisor

- Extensive first-hand knowledge of arranging tailormade travel in France and being able to speak fluent French. Either native or a degree in French preferred.
- Genuine passion and enthusiasm about travel and experiences.
- The ability to work independently in a methodical way to given timescales in a fast-paced environment.
- Exemplary time management skills and organisation skills with demonstrable travel management experience.
- A confident and clear verbal and written communicator with a high level of attention to detail.
- Experience in delivering outstanding service.
- First class sales skills with experience in following up warm sales leads.
- Strong technical skills with a comprehensive understanding of MS Word, Excel and Outlook and experience of tour itinerary management software.
- Confidence to liaise, negotiate and make bookings with hotels, attractions, guides and small tour operators whilst also being the customer’s single point of contact.
- Naturally empathetic with a mature style and approach that builds confidence.
- A positive attitude and a flexible team player.
