**About this career opportunity**

Research projects undertaken range in duration from one or two hours to several weeks. Participation in initiatives to improve the services of ILS, Knowledge and Information (K&I) team or wider Arup University will be expected as will building strong relationships with individuals and teams across the organisation.

You should be self-motivated, offering excellent customer service to the internal client base. In addition, you will be a strong team player who continually strives to improve the ILS service offering and reputation.

**You will make an impact in this role by**:

- Undertaking value added research
- Engaging with enquirers and undertaking reference interviews
- Promoting ILS services through various channels and presentations
- Cataloguing and classifying physical books and e-books
- Abstracting selected journals
- Proactively sharing relevant content to specific groups through various channels
- Undertaking scheduled sessions on the Library Enquiry Desk (c.3 per week)

**Is this role right for you?**
**If so, you'll likely have**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Library / Information Management
- Significant experience of undertaking in-depth / value added research utilising a variety of different sources.
- Experience across a range of sectors and marketplaces,
- Comfortable researching companies and industries; market trends; new technologies, materials and processes; sustainability; countries and geographies.
- In addition to being confident with standard Microsoft products (e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel), you will be familiar with professional research tools such as Dialog Proquest, Profound, Factiva and Orbis or comparable tools.
- The ability, enthusiasm and desire to mentor and develop other colleagues about sources, methodologies and deliverables
