**Salary**: £28,445 (40 weeks per year)

Our client are looking for a hardworking, ambitious and dynamic Librarian to join the team in Wimbledon. You will be a fully qualified librarian with a passion for children's literature. You will be highly motivated to help build a culture of reading andhave the desire to provide students with many opportunities.
**Responsibilities**:
- To be responsible for managing the Library and other academic information resources
- To lead programmes for scholarly research and reading.
- To work with staff and students to determine information requirements and incorporate these within the Library development plan and budget.
- To be responsible for assisting in the promotion of reading, information and research skills throughout the Academy (both for information and pleasure), while ensuring that the Library is welcoming to all students and provides an area that is conduciveto scholarly study.
- To support literacy intervention programmes to support students to improve their reading.
- To lead English library lessons in consultation with the Director of English.
**Qualifications & Experience**:
- Full qualification as a chartered librarian
- Experience of working in a library, preferably in a school environment
- Experience of utilising ICT and skills to access and retrieve information
- Experience of working with children and meeting their particular needs and requirements
- Experience of organising author visits and leading workshops/opportunities to develop a love of reading
- Knowledge of contemporary children's literature
- Knowledge of the full range of resources appropriate to the age range of the Academy and the ability to use/manage these resources
- Skills and confidence to instruct groups of children.
- High level of written oral communication skills.
- Able to work as part of a team and in partnership with teachers and other staff.
- Effective communication skills to be able to develop open and constructive relationships with a wide range of children and staff.
- Strategic planning and financial management skills.
