We are looking for an experienced Transport Coordinator to join our team at the Newton Abbot depot.

**Job Title - Transport Co-ordinator**

**Line Manager - Transport Manager**
- **The role**:_
- Assisting the Transport Manager in their duties to co-ordinate and manage the drivers' workloads including start times, routes, delivery times, customer needs and product awareness.
- Regularly checking through the driver’s trips on tracking systems (Deliveryweb) to monitor progress and liaise with other departments regarding deliveries to ensure a first-class service.
- Support the management team in delivering best practice regarding food safety and handling, ensuring all team members understand the importance of being safe in the workplace.
- Having a clear operational plan, always bearing in mind the bigger picture and the customer whose standards and expectations need to be met, whilst improving cost efficiency.
- **Key responsibilities**:_
- Route planning
- Oversee the daily distribution List
- Driver training and development including inductions and refreshers
- Take part in performance reviews, appraisals, and progression monitoring
- Oversee weekly transport rota, two weeks ahead as a minimum
- Probationary reviews and disciplinary’s
- Holiday authorisation and management
- Absence management and cover
- Vehicle maintenance, MOTs and tax
- Staff drivers licence checks
- Report, record & action vehicle defects and damage
- Vehicle cleaning schedules and records, actioned daily
- Deal with and oversee vehicle breakdowns
- Liaise with Night Manager in reference to Vehicle loading standards
- Communicate with all other relevant departments on time sensitive issues
- Driver observations

An experienced professional that really understands distribution with a proven track record of delivering what’s needed to ensure safe and effective growth of the company. Intensely motivated with experience in a high-pressure environment, a positive attitude without being afraid to get stuck in to get it over the line.

Someone who can manage people effectively and efficiently. The ability to recognise which areas of the business need improving and pulling resources to solve the problem.
- **Essential experience and skills**:_
- A good collaborator with strong attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
- Clean Drivers License
- Performance management skills with an understanding of KPI’s.
- The ability to deliver training and team briefings, 1-2-1 training and appraisals.
