**Job Description - Children’s Care Support Worker (CSW)**

**Main Purpose of Job**

Spectrum residential children services is expanding and now is an exciting time to get involved We have vacancies for children’s support workers for our autism specialist home situated in St Austell Cornwall. Our children’s home provides a safe, stable, nurturing home, catering for the needs of children and young people with autism and associated conditions.

Currently the home is a single person service supporting a deaf child. It is desirable for applicants to have knowledge/background of working with deaf children/young people/adults and have British Sign Language qualifications. Although previous experience is not essential you will need to be willing to learn deaf awareness and British Sign Language 1 & 2 with a possibility of level 3, full training will be provided

As well as a comprehensive training programme, staff will also be enrolled on a fully funded Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare with the opportunity to progress to a Level 5 diploma.

We ensure children and young people with autism have the necessary skills, confidence, and support to access opportunities to lead happy adult lives living as independently as possible. To achieve good health and emotional wellbeing and to create an atmosphere within which they can feel safe to express themselves.

Schedule:

- Day shifts £10.00 per hour
- Evening shifts £10.00 per hour
- Waking nights £10.66 per hour
- Sleep-ins £78.30 per shift
- Enhanced weekend rates

- Residential Childcare: 1 year (preferred)
- Support Environment: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- NVQ Level 2 Health & Social Care (preferred)
