Part Time Weekend Cook

Chilterns Manor Care Home based in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire are looking for a part time cook to join their friendly kitchen. In return we can offer a friendly working environment with good working conditions and day shifts only.

Hours are 8 per day.

A friendly personality and good people skills are just as important as your chef skills.

Certificafe in NVQ L2 Food Hygiene is desirable but not essential as training can be provided.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that all food stuffs are stored correctly according to type and in accordance with Department of Health guidelines (HACCP).
- Checking of all goods upon delivery, checking sell-by/use-by-dates and completing a Delivery Temperature Record in respect of all chilled, frozen foods and meat products in accordance with Department of Health guidelines (HACCP)
- Carrying out daily temperature checks of both refrigerated and frozen goods and recording the results accordingly, in accordance with Department of Health guidelines (HACCP)
- Monitoring the temperature of food during the cooking process and recording the results on the Daily Cooked Food Temperature Record, in accordance, with Department of Health guidelines (HACCP)
- Taking and storing of food samples, in accordance with Department of Health guidelines (HACCP)
- Ensure that all crockery, cutlery and other utensils used in preparation of meals are washed properly and stored appropriately.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is fully operational and regularly serviced as required and that any faults are reported immediately to enable the appropriate repairs to take place.
- Oversee the distribution of meals etc to residents
- Ensure that effective cleaning schedules are applied within the kitchen and food store areas to ensure high standards of hygiene are maintained, in accordance with Department of Health guidelines (HACCP)
- Maintain the safety of self and others at all times, and report any accidents or dangerous occurrences immediately to the Home Manager
- Attend training courses and staff meetings as and when directed.
