**SCANNING/MEDICAL REPORT ADMINSTRATOR**

**Job Title: Scanning/Medical Report Administrator**

**Responsible To: The Practice Manager/Office Supervisor**

**Hours of Work**:
**Wednesday, 9.00 am to 4.00 pm**

**Thursday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm**

**Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm**

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:
1. To be responsible for the scanning of clinical correspondence into the

patient’s electronic healthcare record.

2. Attaching clinical correspondence to the patient’s electronic healthcare record

that has been received via electronic methods

3. To be responsible for the accurate read-coding of relevant information from

clinical correspondence into the patient’s electronic healthcare record on the

SystmOne clinical system, adhering to the practice coding policy.

4. To process incoming medical report requests from various sources such as the

DWP, Capita, solicitors, insurance companies and patients. Check that

patient consent has been received and generate a GPR report if necessary.

- Information relating to patients, carers, colleagues, other healthcare workers or the business of the Practice may only be divulged to authorised persons in accordance with the Practice policies and procedures relating to confidentiality and the protection of personal and sensitive data

- Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards
- Reporting potential risks identified
