**Compliance Officer to oversee Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ)**

We are seeking a driven and passionate person who wants to feel truly valued and find their vocation in work life.

Houghton & Son Ltd is a family owned Building and Electrical Contractor which has been established for over 40 years. Projects are on commercial and residential buildings in and around Essex.

Our core ethos is “Doing things the right way, not the easy way”. As we continue to grow we are looking to develop our processes and continually improve. We need the right person to join us and develop our health, safety, quality and environmental processes.

We are associated with many trade associations such as CHAS, NICEIC, ISO9001.

We are now looking for a fully experienced compliance officer to manage the HSEQ requirements and complement the existing Management Team. You will work within an experienced and friendly team comprising: Contracts Managers, Site Managers and Site Operatives, as well as Commercial personnel and Consultants. Reporting to the directors/ senior management, you will manage the ISO and help implement changes and improvements when and where required.

Note as this is a part time role we are willing to be flexible with working hours.
- You must have at least three years’ experience within a similar role, with a knowledge of construction
- Full UK Driving License
- You are punctual, reliable and hard working, with the ability to adhere to strict time lines
- IT literate
- Must have experience of ISO9001
- IOSH
- Come from a Document Control background
- Experience working onsite conducting paperwork audits

**Preferable Qualifications**:

- NVQ 6 or higher (preferred)
- NEBOSH Certification
- First Aid
- Experience in Fire Stopping

**Main Duties**:

- Implementing and leading effective Company and Client health and safety programmes, whilst creating an atmosphere of a proactive safety culture.
- Liaising with team members regarding HSEQ policies, working with management providing regular updates
- Review and update Risk Assessment inclusive of COSHH
- Design and implement HSEQ culture throughout the company.
- Deliver company entries into external H&S awards.
- Prepare project construction, and environmental management plans.
- Manage training needs of company staff.
- Implement and audit quality procedures and systems (ISO).
- Drive improvements in the organisation’s safety culture
- Maintain existing ISO 9001 and help to achieve ISO 45001 / 14001.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £30,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
