**Job Description - Production Operative (Pressworks)**

**SUMMARY**

As part of Presswork’s production team, you will be working closely with colleagues in various stages of production to manufacture motorcycle and automotive brake pad components.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Operate various machinery and equipment to produce parts in accordance with the relevant drawings and specifications.
- Maximise daily output in-line with targets, producing parts to set priorities.
- Count and pack items, as per the details shown on the works order.
- Perform physical stock movements (does involve some heavy lifting).
- Preparing items for collection/delivery.
- Unloading/loading deliveries.
- Complete paperwork showing daily production.
- Identify process improvement opportunities.
- Any other duties as issued by the Pressworks Supervisor.

**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**
- Previous production, manufacturing or engineering experience is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided on all aspects of the job.
- Counterbalance Forklift Licence desirable but not essential as in-house training can be provided.
- Must be able to work as part of a team.
- Must be able to work independently in line with standard operating procedures and follow instructions.
- Ability to read, write, communicate and comprehend written and verbal instructions in English.
- Experience in manual handling.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Hourly rate: Starting at £9.80 per hour, rising to £10.07 per hour on successful completion of 3 calendar month probation period.
- Working hours: Monday-Thursday 07.15-16:30 (30 minutes unpaid lunch break each day) and Friday 07:30-13.00. Total 40.5 hours per week.
- Working conditions are normal for an engineering press works environment, ear defenders will need to be worn.
- Full PPE (including safety footwear and ear defenders) will be provided.
