Due to an organisational change we are in a position to recruit a full time Voluntary Services Coordinator to support recruitment of volunteers across our sites.

This role will allow us to recruit new volunteers, enabling us to engage untapped volunteer resources and access their energy and new ideas. In turn this will enable us to support more patients, develop new intergenerational work and help us take our patient experience above and beyond normal NHS service provision.

One strand of the work will be to identify and develop appropriate volunteer roles, recruit volunteers into the role and support ongoing training and development. The other will be to build professional relationships with our existing and new volunteers and service leads
across the organisation.

You will be an experienced volunteer manager that would like to be part of this service re-organisation. With a can-do attitude and excellent communication skills you will be able to develop outreach, easily build rapport with volunteers, staff and stakeholders in
order to understand need and support services.
- To be responsible for the provision of volunteering across the Trust - ensuring the right voluntary support is provided in the right place at the right
- To be responsible for managing the staff volunteering programme to support and complement winter plans.
- Build professional relationships with the Trust’s volunteers and service managers
- To act as a link with other volunteer organisations including British Red Cross, Pat Dogs, Volunteer car drivers and Hospital Radio that support patient activities at the
- Line management of Voluntary Services administrators.

Communication and relationship skills
- Meet with members of the East Suffolk & North Essex NHS Foundation Trust leadership and service teams to identify areas that would particularly benefit from enhanced support from volunteers/staff volunteers and identify new
- Support clinical and corporate colleagues with the production of role profiles for placement opportunities, ensuring requirements are understood and effectively communicated to new and existing
- Ensure that existing East Suffolk & North Essex NHS Trust volunteers are communicated with and understand the important role they can play in supporting colleagues in different.

Knowledge, training and experience
- Manage and understand existing voluntary and recruitment & selection procedures and practices, some of which may be non-routine, and audit these on a regular basis to ensure they are being adhered to.

Analytical and judgemental skills
- Review all existing and potential volunteers, ensuring that the available resource is targeted to the right area. This may mean a temporary move of roles for current.

Planning and organisational skills
- Ensure effective allocation of voluntary resource to meet organisational
- Be responsible for planning and organising various Voluntary Services forums and events.
- Produce project plans as appropriate.
- Ensure plans are in place to mitigate any risks associated with achieving the project plan.
