**Project Planner - (Inside IR35)**

**Contract Term: 5 months***

**Contracting Authority: Department for Work and Pensions**

**Location: Hybrid - 2 days a week in the nearest DWP office / Remote Working**

Experienced Project Planner to lead planning activity as part of feasibility planning for new priority project joining the programme.

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is responsible for welfare, pensions, and child maintenance policy. As the UK’s biggest public service department, it administers the State Pension and a range of working age, disability and ill health benefits to around 20 million claimants and customers. As such, we operate on a scale that is almost unmatched anywhere in Europe and most people in Britain come into contact with us at some point in their lives.

**As a Project Planner your main responsibilities will be**
- Programme or Project Management skills, with a particular expertise in project planning, with experience of using these to achieve results.
- Well-developed persuasive interpersonal and Well-developed persuasive interpersonal and communication skills, with good stakeholder management experience from working with a range of internal and external people at all levels, having confidence in managing resistance and conflict.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and improve processes and ways of working, using analytical thinking.
- Be able to operate with autonomy, whilst working flexibly with colleagues in your own and various external teams.
- Ability to create and manage documentation and reports for projects, including developing presentations for briefings / meetings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Project, with the ability to collate, analyse and present data effectively.

**Essential Skills**
- Experience as a planner ideally with the public sector
- Experience of Project Management delivery
- Experience of change projects
- Project qualification
- MSP skillset in the delivery of planning
- Critical planning skillset
- Strong self starter

**Desirable skills**
- Previous experience within the DWP would be highly beneficial
