Working within a small, friendly team of mental health professionals (Counselling and Mental Health Team) within the wider OHWB team based at UHP. The role will consist of hybrid working both in the OH Department and from home. 1. Specialist Mental Health provision within an Occupational Health and Wellbeing Department
2. To support the Specialist Mental Health Advisor with the development and delivery of an Occupational Mental Health service, integral to the Counselling and Mental Health Team of the OHWB service
3. To provide Occupational Mental Health advice to employees and managers of UHPT and client organisations
4. To assist in the development of protocols for the OH Mental Health service
5. To participate in the provision and development of the OHWB service

Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS at Risk staff throughout Devon who is able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.

Work as an autonomous MH practitioner to manage own caseload

Provision of an exemplar OH Service, ensuring UHP and external contractual agreements are met

Engaged in provision of an Occupational Mental Health service

Liaise with UHP managers and employees regarding MH issues

Maintain effective enhanced and sensitive communication with clients, managers and other professionals

Deliver highly specialist clinical OH advice to managers in respect of workplace and staff, emphasising mental health and stress management

Work collaboratively with other clinical professionals within OHWB, via 2-way referral, provision of advice, management reports, case management/discussion

Engage with key professionals in the community - ie, GP’s, social services, consultant psychiatrists to access appropriate information and manage risk where appropriate

Ensure highly comprehensive clinical records are kept for all employee contacts

Participate in health and well-being activities

Assist in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines for the OHWB department

Contribute to specialist health promotion and well-being training initiatives

Ensure own personal development and monthly attendance at clinical supervision to keep abreast of current developments within own sphere of specialty / responsibilities

Represent UHP and OHWB in support of the Specialist MHA in external situations e.g. conferences, committees and specific educational initiatives

Specialist for MH provision

**Key Dimensions**:
Deputise for the Specialist Mental Health Advisor as required

Working autonomously, independently and without direct supervision, provide assessment, signposting and advice in relation to mental health and employment

Provide advice to managers to facilitate their decision making based on clinical judgement informed by assessment

Using a case management approach provide specialist advice to managers and to support staff who are absent from work

Promote and signpost to psycho-educational approaches to managing stress

Provide mental health advice, co-ordinating with other internal OH professionals as required

Be responsible for own clinical standards and ensure all clinical service aspects meet governance and SEQOHS standards

Participate in business planning, with a particular emphasis on Occupational Mental Health

Assist with mental health nursing service audit and evaluation, making proposals for future service provision

Continuously promote and market the range of services available throughout the Trust and to external clients as appropriate

Participate in the development of policies and procedures in respect of mental health appropriate to the needs of the OHD in conjunction with appropriate personnel

Participate in specialist education, training to OH nursing team for mental health issues
