My client is a leading UK independent electrical group delivering design, manufacturing, installation and maintenance service solutions to customers across a broad range of industrial and commercial sectors.

They are currently keen to recruit a Technical Sales Manager to deal with all aspects of selling spare parts and sub-assemblies, primarily for rotating machines

The role will involve collaboration with the sales team to deliver the sales strategy. Actively seeking new leads and customers. enquiry generation and first point of contact with client to managing the resulting orders through to delivery with a satisfiedcustomer.

Financial acumen required to allow the preparation and compilation of estimates, evaluation of commercial risk and to ensure that the bidding strategy is beneficial to the business and compliant with company processes.

The range of parts involved, along with the projects for which they are required, is quite varied and as such the post offers good job diversity and interest.

**Responsibilities**:
Collaboration with Sales team to develop and deliver Sales strategy.

Actively contacting customers in line with sales strategy

Enquiry handling through bid/no bid stage and ensuring that the bid tactics are suitable and enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner

Ensure that the customer needs are correctly understood including scope of supply, technical details, delivery timescales and quality requirements.

Manage the pricing, compilation of tenders and risk review to result in a complete and correct tender submitted on time.

Ensure good communication with new and existing customers to maximise the likelihood of the bid being successful.

Customer relationship management - ensure that opportunities to grow the business identified and that any customer issues are recognised, answered and addressed in a professional manner.

Identify marketing or sales opportunities by identifying customer requirements; defining market, competitor’s share, and competitor’s strengths and weaknesses.

Engage with other Divisions, Key Account Managers and Sales Engineers to proactively develop sales opportunities.

Manage the procurement process and liaise with suppliers to ensure that the goods and services will arrive on time, to the correct specification and meet the necessary quality requirements.

As required conduct supplier visits to check progress and quality

Arrange shipment of orders including production of appropriate shipping paperwork

Ensure that invoices are sent in a timely manner and that any issues are resolved such that customer payments arrive on time.

Experience in a technical Sales/Customer facing role

Qualification to HND or degree level in a relevant technical discipline ideal. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role would be considered

Experience in a purchasing/negotiation role

Financial/commercial experience

Self-motivation

Excellent interpersonal skills

Good organisational skills

Time management and the ability to prioritise workload with ease

Team player with ability to communicate with all levels of personnel

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Customer focused
