**Transport Planner.**

**Keighley**

Salary Range: £27,000 to £32,000 based on experience.

R McDowell Haulage and Distribution is looking to recruit an experienced Transport planner to take a key role in a busy transport office.

The independently owned firm established almost 40 years prides itself on teamwork and delivering excellent customer service.

**The role**

An experienced Transport Planner to be responsible for arranging efficient planning of deliveries and collections of customer’s product on time and in full using the most cost-effective means possible and best use of the fleet, whilst complying with Transport Legislation and Health and Safety.

The full-time hours are 8 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday.

**Primary duties will include: -**
- To plan the daily routing of the fleet whilst maximising vehicle utilisation.
- Ensure deliveries are undertaken on time and in full, and all paperwork is complete.
- To develop good working relationships with drivers and customers.
- Be conversant with road transport law and ensure that the vehicles and drivers are 100%. compliant.
- Ensure vehicles and trailers are presented to the Garage in accordance with service schedules.

**Skills**
- Experience working in a busy transport office scheduling/ routing fleet vehicles.
- The ability to work on your own initiative.
- Up-to-date knowledge of Driver hour rules.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A National CPC (desirable but not essential).

**The Person**
- Attention to detail and a professional approach to work are essential.
- Organised.
- The ability to keep calm under pressure.
