My client are a well established global logistics provider who are looking to add a Customs Clearance Agent to their growing team.

You will ensure the accurate submission of customs import and export documentation. Liaising with both internal and external clients to achieve a seamless clearance process.
- Produce export and import customs clearance preparation and transmission.
- Liaison with all Customs departments, including departments with specific responsibility, e.g Port Health etc.
- Assistance and guidance to customers with tariff classification needs.
- Answering any Customs queries.
- Receive documents and shipment notifications, reference jobs within internal systems.
- Provide correspondence to customers via appropriate method
- Provide correspondence to Suppliers via appropriate method.
- Ensure import Duty/Vat payments are billed out and funds collected within agreed timescales.
- Use Port Community Systems (Destin8 / CNS).
- Update tracking schedules where necessary / appropriate.
- Provide clearance notifications to customers where necessary / appropriate.
- Carry out any other reasonable task as may be allocated by line or senior manager.
- At all times ensure compliance to HSSQE systems and procedures. Ensure safety of yourself and others around you. Be aware of trade compliance regulations, multilateral trade regimes, dual use requirements, know your customer.
